Public safety and the well-being of citizens continue to be strengthened comprehensively through a solid approach that emphasizes synergy between the government and the community. These efforts include enhancing the operational capacity and preparedness of relevant agencies, improving the level of response to emergency incidents, as well as reinforcing the role of the community as strategic partners in ensuring that public peace and safety are consistently maintained. The matters were highlighted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs, during the 44th Citizenship Certificate Presentation Ceremony. It took place at BRIDEX Conference Hall, Jerudong.
Yang Berhormat said at the same time, efforts to strengthen community resilience continue to be enhanced through awareness programmes, preparedness as well as active involvement of the community, specifically grassroots leaders as the government's strategic partners. This approach is vital in shaping an attentive, responsive and resilient community, in line with their role as frontliners in supporting public safety at the grassroots level.
This year, 618 people received their Citizenship Certificates by the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
